Maduramycin Ammonium is a veterinary antiprotozoal drug used to prevent and control coccidiosis in poultry, especially broilers and young turkeys. It belongs to the ionophore class and works by disrupting sodium and potassium ion transport in Eimeria parasites, leading to their death. Derived from Actinomadura rubra, it is administered via feed and is effective against multiple Eimeria species during early developmental stages. It is not recommended for laying hens and must be carefully dosed to avoid toxicity.
