Trans-Zimtsäure ist ein weißes bis fast weißes kristallines Pulver. Siedepunkt: 265 ºC bei 760 mmHg, Flammpunkt: 189,5 ºC. Dichte: 1,184 g/cm3. Wasserlöslichkeit: 0,4 g/L (20 °C); löslich in Diethylether, unlöslich in Hexan.
