Usage
- Used as pharmaceutical intermediates, is halogenated quinoline anti-amoeba drug intermediates, including quiniodoform, chloroiodoquinoline, diiodoquinoline, etc. These drugs play an anti-amoeba role by inhibiting intestinal symbiotic bacteria, which is effective for amoeba dysentery and has no effect on extraintestinal amoeba.
- 8-hydroxyquinoline is also the intermediate of dyes and pesticides.
- The sulfate and copper salts of 8-hydroxyquinoline are excellent antiseptic, disinfectant and mildew inhibitor.
- Widely used in the determination and separation of metals. Precipitant and extractant for precipitation and separation of metal ions are complexometric titration indicators for chemical analysis.
